Submit a Guest Blog

Interested in contributing as a guest author on SwimBlogs? Here's some guidelines on the submission process.

Guest Blogging can be a great way to showcase your expertise and generate traffic to your business or website.

Topics

We are happy for you to suggest topics for your blog. A good place to start is to choose a subject that you are knowledgeable in, feel passionate about and most importantly will be interesting to our readers.

Previous articles have covered areas such as:

  • Training Tips
  • Strength and Conditioning Advice/Injury Prevention
  • Bike Maintenance
  • Health/Nutrition
  • Competitions
  • Personal stories that will help or inspire others.
Republishing Policy

We are only looking for original content that has not been published elsewhere and will be exclusive to SwimBlogs.

What we don't accept

Please do not make your blog too salesy or focus too much on a particular brand, anyone reading this kind of post will see through it in a second. The idea of the guest blogs is to be informative, provide advice or generate discussion. Reviews are fine so long as they are balanced.

Bio

At the beginning of the blog we ask our authors to introduce themselves to our community! A few short sentences about you and your expertise, plus a link to your website or page (relevant to our audience). If you want to include a photo of yourself then great (see guidelines on photos/images/logos).

Links

Feel free to add relevant/useful links in your text. We do not accept link text such as "click here" or "link" instead use a phrase that is directly relevant to the link, for example the link text could be, "Swim Technique" or "Hydration"...

If you can provide the full website address (including the http:// or https://) then we will embed the link within the text.

Content

Ideally your article should be between 500-1200 words in length. This fits nicely into 4-12 paragraphs. No particular writing style is required, just be yourself! Please write concisely and to highlight key points use bold, subtitles and bullets.

Photos/Images/Logos

Pictures are good, they gain attention and make the blog look interesting, pictures/videos can also be used to explain 'how to do something'. It is extremely important that the image is copyright free, properly attributed and been credited.

We accept:

  • Images you have taken and/or own yourself.
  • Images that someone else took but have given you permission to use.
  • Images that you have purchased and have the rights to use with attribution.
  • Images with creative common licences.

Unfortunately we do not accept any other images including those you find on a search engine, unless you can show the source of the image and its licence.

Attach any images as JPG, PNG or GIF to an email along with the text so that we can embed them in the blog.

Editing

We may make some limited editorial changes and formatting, please do not be offended if we do so. On occasion we may ask for you to add some additional explanatory content if required.

Promotion

If you have a specific day that you would prefer for your post to go live then please specify this in your email. We publish Guest Blogs on the SwimBlogs Blog feed and share on our social media channels. We will email you to let you know when the blog is live.
